to install or use your SPROG.
The following steps are required to install your SPROG before you can use it for the first time:
These instructions provide full steps for the Windows, MacOS or Raspberry Pi OS operating systems
but the same basic principles apply to other Linux distributions.
Specific instructions are included for Raspberry Pi 4B (or 3B+) running Bullseye or Pi 5 Bookworm.

Acrobat Reader to be installed on your system.
Most computers have this or an equivalent Reader,
but if you do not already have Acrobat Reader installed, it may be installed from here:
Before you can use your SPROG for the first time you need to install
a number of software components.
SPROG software requires the Java runtime environment (JRE) version 11 or 17 and JMRI, which includes DecoderPro.
In addition, the USB SPROG device may require specific USB drivers to be installed.
